The scenery which provided the inspiration for The Secret

I'm English, married with children and grandchildren and I live on the South East Coast of England with my husband and our two youngest daughters. With two dogs and two cats making up the last of our family still at home, we're something of a busy and often chaotic household. Living in a small market town, we consider ourselves fortunate to be surrounded by the countryside on all sides and yet still have the joy of the seashore being merely a stone's throw away.

When I'm not reading or writing, I can usually be found at the equestrian centre where my youngest daughter rides and works in between her studies. Until recently, I was better known at the yard as being 'the lady with the camera' but whilst I still do take many photographs for the yard and their clients, these days I have swapped the camera for a pitchfork...and whilst I never thought that I would be able to understand my daughter's attraction to mucking out stables, I have to admit that there is something incredibly serene in it! I have even begun to take riding lessons...proving that it is never too late to begin.

As I've mentioned above, photography is fast becoming a passion of mine (true, most of my 'subject material' is found in the horses, ponies and riders of the yard!) and so much so that mid-Autumn this year, my passion persuaded my husband to part me from my little 'point-and-shoot' camera and frighten me to death with an upgrade which seems to have more 'add-ons' than I've had hot dinners.

I feel a 'photography course for dummies' coming on for 2016...
